For a city girl, finding the perfect all-day shoe that's equal parts beautiful and functional is a mission in and of itself.

Until Shellys London, I had the worst luck with packing comfortable footwear for New York. My comfortable shoes were ugly as hell and my pretty shoes rubbed my ankles raw/squished my toes/made my soles hurt. Yes, even the expensive ones! Finding the perfect balance is so tricky. And in a city like New York, where one walks literally miles upon miles a day and has to plan their outfit to be practical the entire day (especially if you live in Brooklyn and not in the city, because god knows how hectic it is to drop by your apartment for an outfit change), it's especially difficult.

I was determined to change this on my last NYC trip. I arrived with an arsenal of three different Shellys London shoes (which you can view on my Instagram), and I'll be blogging my top two faves. The first pair is the Lovenia boot in blue suede. You might recall I have the same shoe but in a grayish-white leather--that's how much I love this boot. It gives you height but is super comfortable for day-to-night wear. I have been through concrete jungle hell and back in them.
