It Takes One to TENGA

Y'all are about to learn something about me that I have never publicized on a platform before.

I'm a blogger, yes, but ever wonder what I'd be doing if I weren't one? My secondary dream job is to be a sex and relationship therapist (and there's time yet for me to go back to school for that while blogging simultaneously!). It was such an honor for me to attend the Sexual Health Expo (SHE) for work, get to chat with Dr. Chris Donaghue (pictured, you may know him from Love Line), and see my favorite sex educator and activist Tristan Taormino speak. I seriously had a moment. I was in awe of how far this blogging journey has taken me--my worlds and passions collided during SHE.

You know me for speaking on risqué topics a lot of my peers don't normally touch upon (especially if you follow my Twitter): rape culture, politics, sex positivity, trans visibility, I can keep going with this. Sexual health and sex positivity are big passions of mine because it's so important to all of us, and not enough people talk about it. There's almost an inherent shame behind it; society oppresses and suppresses those vocal and confident enough to be comfortable speaking on these topics.

So let's talk about it today, with the help of TENGA. TENGA is a Japanese-based company that's quite huge here in the U.S. (you can find them at The Pleasure Chest, Babeland, etc.) that focuses on sexual health and well-being. They make solo sex an overall pleasurable experience, down to the streamlined minimalist design of their products (their latest ones resemble an Amazon Echo, of all things). They're bent on getting the lowdown on the sexual habits of Americans, so they did an incredible 2016 United State(s) of Masturbation survey--you can even view some exclusive Clinton- and Trump-supporter facts! Check out the infographic to your left for more, and head on over to their website to learn more about TENGA's mission to elevate the conversation around it.

  6. It's so important to just crack the ice and start talking about sex! It's 2016 yet it's still a topic to many that is so taboo... Way to go lady, really enjoyed this blog post!
